Australia
The current crisis in Australia is unprecedented and continues to threaten communities and wildlife. Today we'd like to do more than express our heartfelt sympathy for all impacted by the devastation these brush fires have caused. Today we'll be donating to the NSW Rural Fire Service. Of course there are many organizations in need and we encourage any and all that are able to please give what you can.

Important things to note:
-The bushfire risk for the 2019 season was well known to Australian firefighting chiefs, who had been trying to meet with Scott Morrison, the Australian prime minister, since April, worried that a crisis was coming, but they were constantly rebuffed.
-This fire has arguably been exacerbated by the effects of global warming. The Climate Council, an independent, community-funded climate organization, suggests bushfire conditions are now more dangerous than they were in the past, with longer bushfire seasons, drought, drier fuels and soils and record-breaking heat. Notably, Australia experienced its hottest year on record in 2019, climbing 1.5 degrees Celsius higher than the average, according to a report by the Bureau of Meteorology
The New South Wales Rural Fire Service has around 70,000 members, but most of them are performing unpaid work to protect the lives and homes of their compatriots. A report by the BBC suggests approximately 3,000 firefighters are on the ground every day battling blazes.
For the next 24 hours, we will be donating our profits to the NSW Rural Fire Service. At the same time, we are urging our fellow small business owners to do the same and for all of those with larger followings to use your platform to spread awareness. Australia, we stand with you.
